Being realized as interactive, audio-visual installation, Pendulum music is essentially a work of sound art, a sound sculpture and a media work. It is made for the purpose to provoke and to question the importance of artifacts as things from our everyday life and tools of artistic practices, as opposed to process and formal qualities in the pieces of sound art and experimental music.This work is an intentionally simplified interpretation and an evident reference to the original work by the same name made in 1986 by Steve Reich. It achieves its full purpose and meaning, only when being brought into relation with the original. |
