Balanced...hole...time?
"Carefully balanced on the edge of a hole in time." Text by Lawrence Weiner
Quartet to go is an object. It is a composition made of 6 rhythmical patterns. Light, text and sound are elements of these rhythmical structures. Sounds are produced by solenoids hitting the wall of a box, and the sound of rotating motor is audible as well. It is all amplified with a contact microphone on the back of the box. Spinning text is a quotation of Lawrence Weiner's piece: "Carefully balanced on the edge of a hole in time".
1) Quartet to go is a composition meant to be owned by an individual. 2) It is a 60 seconds performance meant to be played in concert. 3) It is an installation that plays composed material according to it's own will, in it's own times.
