"And all who told it added something new, and all who heard it made enlargements too." Alexander Pope
- interactive sound installation made in 2009 - concept of a sound chat – conversation with sounds - two computer keyboards and two pairs of headphones, no displays
Information (or the sounds of conversation) spread like word of mouth, get into loops and become modified like gossips. Gossips change with each new event, and fade out once in a while.
(audio preview made with interactive keyboards)
Keyboards produce sound when the users press any key. The key transmits musical message which can be heard on both headphones. By hearing each others’ typing, users can go into different kinds of correspondence – question and answer, repeating or guessing what the other one “said” , What's been said is repeated and modified. Musical information created by the users is remembered by the system, changed by certain compositional rules and looped in the background.
