PHONART RADIO WALK
interactive 4 channel sound installation (2012)
interactive 4 channel sound installation (2012)
Phonart Radio Walk is a 4-channel, interactive sound installation. By walking in the installation space, on the coordinates of the map projected on the floor, user moves through the radiophonic space between the 4 cities and listens to the precomposed 4-channel soundscapes which are changing according to his/her position on the map. Walking becomes a way to listen actively.
This work is an autonomous art piece but also a documentation of the music performance realized in November 2011, as part of the Phonart project. During the mentioned performance, musicians based in Belgrade, Pula, Vienna and Prague were improvising with each others through the internet stream, and musical material was circling between the radio stations and could be modified freely by any of the participating parties. The recordings that were gathered during this project, were used to compose original soundscapes for the Phonart Radio Walk installation.
