INTRODUCTION TO EMS SYNTHI 100
Masterclasses at Electronic Studio Radio Belgrade
Masterclasses at Electronic Studio Radio Belgrade
As head of Electronic Studio at Radio Belgrade, I guided artists through their residencies in the studio. Each residency would start with an introductory course where we learn all the necessary things that one needs to know in order to work with Synthi. This masterclass was one-on-one, very intensive and it was usually spreading throughout two days, 2.5-3h a day. There are a lot of technical details to be grasped all at once, and the student/artist gets to try out everything that's being mentioned, directly on the instrument. As theoretical support for the masterclass, a printed edition of Paul Pignon's Manual was used and the students were advised to read through it before the course. After this course, students/artists are considered to be ready to continue their work in the studio independently. Prior experience of working in music studio is expected, working with modular synthesisers is a plus.

FREE FLOW MUSICAL DATA
Pure data programming for beginners
Pure data programming for beginners
|
This course is meant for musicians or music enthusiast who have none or very little experience in object programming. During the workshop the basics of Pure data programming will be covered while focusing on audio and building of interfaces for musical performance that can be controlled using wide range of external controllers. The course ends with presentations of demo projects that have been developed during the course.
This course is not meant to make you an amazing programmer, but rather a great musical thinker who will be able to use PD as a tool in production of original works. It should open your mind to realize that there are many amazing possibilities that you can have for free, that can spare you of buying expencive musical equipment - it just takes creative thinking and a bit of programming. To be able to adapt technology to your own needs is to be free of making compromises with your ideas and keep the originality of your work. |
